Great Car my first 250 miles averaged 56 mpg. The car is quiet well made and is rated high by the experts. If you buy used hold out for Navigation and other upper end accessories, package #6, it is worth the extra investment. Computer in car is really cool. You feel like your in a car of the future. Great car for the environment.
Buy used (at about 20K miles and 2yrs old) and should be able to get a car in like new condition for about 65% of orginal MSRP(plus options). Mine was way under the loan value of the car. Great Buy. Source: eBay Motors Reviews |
2007 Toyota Prius: Go ahead, make faces to all gas guzzler :D I got my silver 2007 prius 3 weeks ago. (late oct/06) It's a pack #2 with mp3, stablity control, rear camera and full airbags.
I didn't have to wait for one at my dealership (in San Fran bay area, CA) so whatever those dealership BSing a bloody waiting list and try to charge or make you do a depost, walk away. Also, if you are a costco member, the discount is not worth the trouble.
Okay - the review:
The GOOD: 1. I had been driving it for 3 weeks; to work and day trips. 900 miles on my ob meter - and I average 50 miles a gallon. I only filled my tank twice in last 3 weeks. 2. Amazing interior noise - I drove over 80 mph and it didn't even hiss at me. 3. Even quietier when you coast it on city street. 4. The cool geek factor is still very much in this car. But sorry, this car isn't a true babe magnet. (darn! ^_^;) 5. Cargo space is insanely huge. I could stuff a full size futon flat with rear seat fully folded down. 6. Rear seatings (I am told) are very comfy.
The BAD: 1. Not absolutely comfortable... This car driver seat similar to a full size SUV. While it is okay, it just isn't as well design as I expected in a "sub compact". (driving is different then being a passager) 2. Batteries... The estimated cost for replacing that NiMH pack is about $12,000. - it does last 150,000 miles but don't bet on it.
The UGLY: 1. it handle like a van.. Not just a van-van, it's FEEL LIKE moving in a VW bus. Becuase my past driving experiences were mainly "Nihonize pocket-rockets" - this car handling characteristic doesn't impressive me. 2. Blind spots.. this car had 2 major blind spot. The first one in the front - it cut off part of your front view. The other in the traditional rear end of the car - only problem that it is compounded by the poorly placed hatch support beam/shell. 3. Colour... The hottest/unusal colour on the prius is the titanium grey and unlike other regular Toyota, that colour is very rare. The next rarest is the seaside pearl (green). Either way, if you want those colours - prepare to wait a long long time.
The conclusion: If you want to be a bit sporty, but still want to be somewhat green - get the honda as its fun to drive that car. But if you want is a green FAMILY car that do its job as good transportation. Then this is your car. (The Camery-H is even better but more $$$) Source: eBay Motors Reviews |

I can't say enough positive things about my Prius. It was in near perfect condition. I bought it for the great gas mileage and it hasn't disappointed me. In addition I have a well-manufactured car with lots of leg room for a car its size. I'm amazed at the actual power it has when needed. It looks great, drives great, feels great and the price was perfect. Source: eBay Motors Reviews |
