We now have 4 Aerostars,and have a friend who has 6 of them for
personal use and for business. He has one with over 300,000 miles on it, and it's still going strong.
All of the Aeros that we've had have been very reliable,with very littlegoing wrong with them.Most of them have come through eBay,but knowing the vehicles as we do,we weren't worried.
We went to pick up one,and it was a bit battered.We were concerned that
it would break down,but it's one of the best. It runs like a new van.
These engines were made to go 100,000 miles without a tune up,
that's a good thing because they are a bit hard to work on.

But then,they haven't needed that much work.4 vehicles purchased over
11 years for only $11,000. That's $1,000 dollars a year, plus they are
all still worth something. What a deal!

If you can find a low mileage Eddie Bauer extended van,buy it!
They are extrememely comfortable,solid,and well made.
They say Ford is making cars now that are equal to the Japanese.
I think they were making great cars back when these were made.

I thought that a minivan with the sliding door would be easier for me to get things in and out, in my narrow garage. I knew that the rear wheel drive ones were supposed to be better, by looking at reviews. I watched minivans come up for sale on eBay, and this one seemed to be good for the price, and was only 20 miles away. I was the high bidder, and liked it from the minute I drove that 20 miles home. My mechanic checked it out, and said "You did good".
I just got through my first full tank of gas, and even with stopping and starting all over town, it got 20mpg, with the AC on.
I like being high up, and having great visability. It rides smoothly, a lot better than my little truck, which was 3 ft. longer, so this is easy to get into tight parking spaces, yet is still spacious inside. First thing I did was take the rear bench seat out and store it.
I have never had a minivan before, and I really like it. It has a dependable feel about it, and it is a keeper. I really just got this one, until I could get a white one with all the buttons, but I don't think I could get one any better. It helps that it seems to have been well maintained by it's first owner.
I have had full size Ford vans, and I wasn't too crazy about them, but this minivan is great.

I just bought this van to take some parts out for my other
1997 Aerostar. This van was a very old model,but it is Eddie Bauer edition.
