I have been in the used car business for many years. I purchased this particular vehicle (2003 Chevy Tahoe) for my personal use. I'm in NC and the vehicle was in Florida (about 500 miles). Anywhere farther away I probably would have passed. The vehicle had many of the features that I was looking for (especially the fact that the upholstry was cloth instead of the usual leather). Leather is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Cloth is the same year round. I flew to Florida (only about $100.00) and drove back. Before purchasing I inspected and drove the vehicle. The seller was a car dealer and contrary to most opinions, car dealers are more prone to be truthful than individuals because they understand that untruthfulness just destroys any future business potential and references. Car dealers are more realistic in representing a vehicle also, as they will point out the negatives just as much as the positives. Individuals tend to look over negatives and let you see them for yourself. Anyway, with car dealers there are usually no suprises, however don't expect a used vehicle to be new. As many used automobiles as I've purchased, I've always found something wrong with them, be it small or even some more costlier repairs. As was the case with my Tahoe, after driving back I discovered approximately $300.00 worth of repairs needed. However, I did not hold the dealer responsible, because as I said if you look at a used vehicle close enough, you can always find a few problems. To make a long story short, I am satisfied with my Tahoe, gave positive feedback, and would not hesitate to purchase from ebay again. I always pay attention to the feedback score though, because this does give a good idea of past selling performance. I would not purchase from anyone with less than a 95% score. I'm sure there are some fine sellers with a lesser score, but that is just me. I also sell much more than I purchase on ebay and know that with a score of less than 95% there had to be some misrepresentation, failure of disclosure, failure of warranty or shipping problems at some time. 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe: Awsome truck The condition of the Tahoe was in great shape. The paint looks almost new, the interior looks like it was never used even though there are so many miles on it. It drives like new and accelerates like a champ. There are only a few items that don't work 100% on the truck. Source: eBay Motors Reviews |
