Ok little car. Ok on gas and not as small inside as it looks. Bad handling in windy freeway situations but all around a decent car for the price.

I bought this car as a small commuter vehicle for very little money. I got rebates totalling $5,500 on this car, which brought the sales price down to less than half the sticker price. This is the basic AVEO 5 with 5 speed transmission, and no air conditioning (yet). I have put 3 tanks of gas in it, and the last one brought me over 35 MPG (vs. 34 on the sticker). Realize, too, that I am meticulous...not driving over 3000 RPMs during the first 5000 miles or so. I feel this will be an excellent vehicle for the purpose I bought it. The fact that it has a 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty was another factor in the purchase of the vehicle.

Without the rebates, I would have probably purchased a Toyota or Honda, but for this kind of money, I would have been hard-pressed to have made a better purchase. In making the decision to work with the Korean Daewoo factory, GM has made a decision to combine reliability with frugality, two points which were very important to me.

If you are looking for a compact car with low operating costs, low taxes and insurance rates, and reliability, this is one to consider...especially if you time the rebates correctly.

This is a very good vehicle for my Granddaughter's first car, my older Grandaughter has a 2005 Aveo and it has been very dependable and a good car so we are sure this one will be the same. dependable and great on gas. The cndition is great. So far there have been no problems and I don't anticipate any.
