I was in the market for a high performance luxury car. I've been a Cadillac owner for many years, and was very excited when they came out with the STS-V with it's supercharged Northstar engine that puts out 469HP. It perfectly fit the bill. I also saw that the car was available with a two tone red and black leather interior which I really liked.
The car is stunningly beautiful and looks fast just sitting still. The STS-V drives as well as it looks, and I can't stress enough... this car is FAST!
Even though it is a very large and comfortable car, it handles and performs like a very nimble sports car, while still maintaing a smooth ride and easy drivability around town that you would expect from a Cadillac. The STS-V is also packed with every electronic goodie you can think of from bluetooth connection for cellular phone, navigation system, voice recognition, memory seats, heated seats in all positions, adaptive electronically controlled manumatic transmission, very responsive Brembo brakes, auto dimming headlighs, XM radio, DVD player... and all this is factory.
The STS-V is very well put together and feels very solid. The craftsmanship is excellent. The interior feels very classy and the materials are very good overall.
My complaints with the car are very few. 1) There seems to be a very slight lag between the time when you push the gas pedal and when the car accelerates from a dead stop when compared to other Northstar cars I have driven. This apparently is a common "problem" with these cars, but is just part of the supercharged design. It is not bad per se, just different. 2) The only reason I marked this car a 4 instead of a 5 for reliability is because my rear window shattered during a sudden temperature drop and cold rain. This was fixed very quickly under warranty. According to the dealer, there was a problem with some of these cars (as well as other models from GM, Toyota, Nissan and some Fords) that is caused by a material defect in the outsourced rubber gasket holding in the window. The expansion rate of the material is different from the glass and in extreme temperature changes, they can expand or contract at different rates thus causing the glass to shatter.
All in all, I absolutely love this car and wouldn't think of driving anything else. The STS-V is in a rare market of ultra performance luxury, and it meets or beats the performance, style, comfort and cache of cars such as the BMW M5 and Mercedes E55 which cost much much more.
Cadillac really has a winner here, and due to limited production quantities of the STS-V, it is the lucky few who are privileged to own one. Source: eBay Motors Reviews |

I don't own an STS but my father does. Hopefully you don't have kids who like to drive fast. haha!
Finally a Cadillac that is a BLAST to drive! My father has had several cadillacs in the past including the Eldorado, Catera and SLS. The Catera drove well also, but the new STS is even better.
He has the V6 model which has enough power to snap your neck back and put a smile on your face. Hooray for rear wheel drive! I'm sure the V8 is even better, but I'm a pretty young whipper snapper who likes to rod my mustang around and the V6 is fast enough for me.
Transmission is flippin awesome. You can barely feel when it shifts and man, when you mash the pedal it knows exactly what you want. For such a big car this thing also corners unbelievable.
Funny thing is my dad doesn't like the ride because it's too "rough". Thank God Cadillac stopped making old people cars. If you have an old butt that likes to be pampered, buy a Crown Victoria or Lincoln Town Car. Source: eBay Motors Reviews |

THe only fault I have with this car is there is not a whole lot of space in the front if you pull your seat forward and if you have long legs then there is not alot of leg room for the person behind you in the rear seats. It is also hard to get in and out of. Source: eBay Motors Reviews |
