I own a couple of these vehicles and I have had several over the years... both Wagons & Sedans. The 1996 Roadmaster is a superb vehicle. Very comfortable, powerful & nimble for it's size. Unfortunately, my cars have suffered damage in parking lots and in traffic... such is modern life. Fortunately, the Wagon shares many cosmetics with the Chevy Impala & Caprice and is easier/cheaper to get replacement body parts for than the Sedan. I live in Colorado and run these year round. The Anti-lock Brakes are wonderful! Granted... I do put studded snow tires at all four corners! They get excellent mileage and are cost effective to maintain. I have a lead foot so I only get about 22 MPG on Regular Unleaded Gasoline. Fortunately for my wallet, these vehicles are easily converted to accept E85 Ethanol Fuel. With Gasoline prices nearing the $3 mark, this is a very good conversion as it allows you to run E85 or Gasoline or ANY COMBINATION OF THE TWO! We currently get E85 here for $1.99 per gallon and the State is discussing lowering the price (through subsidies) to $1.50 per gallon! SWEET! If you would like to know more about the conversion, email me at miltruck@mindspring.com and I will provide information on what I have done. It works on many vehicles and on several model years of the of mid-ninties Roadmaster, Caprice, Impala, Fleetwood GM Platform. It works on 4, 6 & 8 cylinder EFI US & Japanese Vehicles like Hondas, Toyotas & Nissans. I have 8,000 miles on my 1996 Roadmaster Wagon running E85 and it performs flawlessly! It has over 104,000 miles on the vehicle. It is really nice to drive a large powerful car that is fuel efficient AND environmentally friendly (when running on E85)! Thanks for the bandwidth, just my $0.02 worth. ;-) ADDENDUM I have been making my own Ethanol in small batches from damaged products (over ripe fruits, broken sugar bags, etc.) that I can get for next to nothing. It takes a little time, but it results in basically free fuel! I generally get about 22 MPG in the Roadie Wagon on Regular Unleaded when I keep my foot out of it. Economy drops to just over 18 MPG running high concentration Ethanol. I do have a note for those who see Ethanol as some sort of threat to our food supply... Grow Up. US Farmers producing US Grains & US Sugar Beets & US Sugar Cane to make US Ethanol to fuel vehicles on US Highways. Better than funding the economies of countries that would rather see the US go down in flames... or can you not you see that far beyond your wallet? Ethanol can be made from numerous cheap and readily available sources that would do nothing but good for our economy. In Colorado the Sugar Beet Industry collapsed in the Eightys because of cheap sugar imports... I sure would like to see that industry return and start cranking out Ethanol! Remember... Sugar Beets grow easily in soil that NOTHING ELSE will grow in. To blanketly pan Ethanol as a Fuel is just shortsighted and moronic. Please... just do even a little research before you spout your derogatory, ill conceived, jingoistic bilge water... you might just learn something!

i have had 3 buick roadmasters over the years, all got mid 20's mpg, was ecnomical to repair most of the time and they are big, roomey pleasures to drive and i've put about 200,000 miles on all of them.they quit building them in 1996 and they are getting harder to find in the shape one would want but after all, they are at least 13 years old now.i figuered my cost to operate these babies, including purchase price, repairs and up keep is about$2800.00 per year,i excluded tires, regular maintenance and gas, only ,as you have to pay that no matter what you drive.e-bay has the best and freshest listings and saves a lot of time and legwork and i've bought outstanding cars this way.

1994 Buick Roadmaster: Roadmaster Wagon

Just bought a black, wood delete 1994 Buick Roadmaster, and I just love this car. It rides great, soft and smooth with plenty of power. Driving to and from work (18 miles, 13 of them expressway) I get 15-16 mpg, not great, but the wagon makes it nice, I think the skinny pedal on the right is the problem, It's fun to see how far down it goes. Four out of my five kids fight about who is sitting in the rear facing third seat, but the vista roof is a good consalation prise. These cars have there quirks, but so do most of us that own them, so its a good fit.
