I purchased my 91 NSX on eBAY last year.. incredible car.. I feel I got a very good price on eBAY.
I gave it a 5/5 on performance... there are cars that have more horsepower... maybe even more techncially advanced by now... but it has more than enough performace for me. Enough to get me into more trouble than I would like.
It has been very reliable & has a reputation for reliablility... it is after all a Honda.
Comfort... my wife was in a very bad car accident years ago and has trouble getting comfortable, but she loves the comfort of the car. I find it very comfortable to, the way the seats wrap around your body. I'm 6'1" and fit fine. Much taller though may find the headroom limited. My brother is 6'3" and fit okay.
Quality and Craftmanship... hand built, Honda.
There is rarely a time we take it out that somebody doesn't comment on it, take pictures of it with their cell phones, etc. It seems to draw the attention of boys and men.. who tend to be more into cars. My car is a weekend princess. She comes out when the weather is nice.
If people are car people they tend to love it... if they aren't car people they could care less.
AS a WARNING THOUGH **** The SCAMMERS seem to love these cars... if it sounds too good to be true, walk away... NEVER EVER send a deposit electronically, Western Union Etc. There isn't enough room here to document all the scammers I came across in searching for my car. One even had a web site... looked legit, until you began clicking on some of the links.
I got to where I would confront them... they would get angry... I was like, hey I'm an honest working stiff, you are the one trying to rip people off.
I had some buy it now offers on eBay that then pulled it, and they tried to get you to deal outside eBay. Again, I wouldn't do it.
Others were on Auto Trader or Cars.com. Most all had the.. if it sounds too good to be true, it probably was... they had prices that were about 1/2 or less than low book with some type of story as to why they had to sell the car quickly... most of the time the car or the owner was overseas.
Both the seller of my car and myself were cautious. I flew out to get the car... I gave him a certified check, he gave me the car and the bill of sale, but didn't send me the title until the check cleared... certified cashier checks and be foreits too... sadly, it is a crazy world we live in... and some people don't seem to mind ripping people off.
Maybe they assume people who buy or want cars like an NSX are loaded. In my case that is not the case.
I have always thought they were awesome cars... the style, exotic looks, performance,and they aren't something you see all over town.
I believe there were a little more than 6,000 cars exported to the U.S.A. out of the little more than 18,000 for all the years in production.
It was a little scary for me purchasing something so costly over the Internet. eBay has the $20,000 guarantee, but that didn't quite cover the cost of the vehicle.
But my transaction went smooth. Great seller....
If you want one... keep trying.... heck people pay more for mini-vans and SUV's than you can pick up some of the NSX's now. Mine had 38,500, a West Wings Body Kit, and Antera 308 performance wheels from Italy on it. It looks great IMO... and others are free to tell me the same.
